KITTENS
Generaly
When deciding to get a
cat, whether it's a kitten or full-grown cat, new cat
owners should realise that it is a decision for a number of years. It is
necessary to think it over and know waht breed is suitable for you (get information about the standard and needs
of the given breed) whether to get a tommy or a pussy, a kitten or an adult
cat, a schow cat or a pet, with or without the pedigree certificate.
A small kitten requires at
least half a year of a regular care. If you don't
have so much time for a resposible care, an adult cat will be
the best choice for you. From my own experience I can tell that even such a cat will be
a devoted and close friend.
If you spend a lot of time outside of home, it is best to have two
cats. They do not require much more care. They will be happy together, will not suffer from
loneliness and you will not feel bad about leaving them alone.
A breeding station can breed
only kittens
with a pedigree certificate which means that certain rules are met.
Even though you want your kitten to be just a pet, you will get the pedigree certificate.
It does not mean you have to participate at shows. It is a guarantee that
you buy a cat of a certain breed, not a cross-breed, vaccinated and de-wormed.
Pet-cats are more affordable though not suitable for further breeding. Castration will not harm them, it
will prevent their troublesome behaviour and they will be more friendly and balanced. A kittnen for further breeding
and shows must meet certain criteria If you are interested in such a
kitten, visit few shows and ask breeders. Visiting a breeding
station can give you a good picture
of the quality and care. Make sure the breeder shows you kittens with their mother, eventually their father.
They should not grow up isolated. Kittens should be healthy, playfull, courageous, and socialised. The
best age to take a kitten is three months. Good breeders
sell their cats with a purchase contract with details of the purchase and a life service.
A kitten
without a pedigree certificate is cheaper however you cannot be sure
it is a kitten of a given breed, character and health.
